Our Staff

Summer Quest instructors are seasoned pros chosen for their passion, professional knowledge and their ability to work with children, creating a transformative summer experience. Our Summer Quest staff are experienced with working with children and many have volunteered hundreds of hours each summer as part of our Leaders in Training program. Our student-to-teacher ratios are 8:1 for K-3rd grade programs and all culinary programs with a minimum of two paid staff present at all times.  All other programs require a 10:1 camper to staff ratio.  Every instructor and staff member has been background checked.

Our Camps

Summer Quest camps are hands-on, experiential learning experiences where fun is the order of the day and learning happens naturally. We offer over 200 different camps each summer across six disciplines: Adventure, Creative and Performing Arts, Culinary and Cultural Arts, Scholar Studies, Science and Technology, and Sports and Wellness. Our camp offerings change and evolve year after year to keep content fresh and current with the latest trends in culture and education.

Our Campus

The Cary Academy campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities on a 67 acre campus convenient located off I-40 and close to Raleigh, Durham, and Research Triangle Park. The well-appointed campus includes cutting-edge classrooms, well-maintained gyms and athletic facilities, a 1200 square foot performance stage, and an acclaimed robotics and design Makerspace.

Our Schedule

At Summer Quest you can enroll in half-day or full-day programs and add extended care options if you need an extended day. Our day starts with an 8:30 a.m. with an all-camp assembly and breaks in to individual camp programs at 9:00 a.m. At 12:00 our full day campers (and campers staying for an afternoon camp) have supervised lunch together in the Dining Hall filled with recreational games, arts and a time to meet friends new and old. At 1:00 p.m. our afternoon camps begin and they conclude at 4:00 p.m. with an all-camp assembly to cap off the day. Campers can be picked up after the afternoon assembly at 4:20 p.m. Throughout the day campers are supervised by staff and instructors and moved from place to place as organized groups.
