Recently, our Cary Academy Summer Quest Leaders In Training (LITS) and staff members gathered for a fun filled training day to prepare for the first day of Summer Quest camp. The action packed day included fun activities and ice breakers and opportunities to learn valuable information regarding Summer Quest health and safety regulations and other important information.
All of the Summer Quest staff created custom tie dyed t-shirts to be worn as part of their work attire on Fridays to bring a funky and on trend twist to the core dress code. Everyone enjoyed some time outdoors, channeling their inner fashion flare, and got to know one another a little better. With a little staff engagement, the group had a chance to participate in a unique and fun activity mixing BINGO with interesting personal facts about themselves in order to learn about each other.
The day ended as staff participated in a unique in-service training to learn about a wide variety of methods and teaching styles for various learning styles, creating a positive camp experience. Participating in several learning activities, staff was able to gain a full understanding of the specific needs of campers and how best to accommodate them. Everyone got full on training about every facet of their job and are ready to jump head first into camp on June 16!
